Kyocera to Push iBurst in US, Europe
October 14, 2005
Kyocera is making plans to further commercialize its iBurst System, a wireless wide area network system based on PHS technology it co-developed with US ArrayComm and others in 2004. It recently was accepted as a standard by the ANSI (American National Standards Institute), providing a stimulus for the company to start selling end-devices and base stations in the European and US markets. Currently, iBurst is already offered by operators in South Africa and Australia. Kyocera expects iBurst to generate revenue of 30 billion Yen by 2008.
